CHICAGO (July 24, 2003) — The San Jose Group recently announced the hiring of Cristina Alfaro as managing director of public relations.
George L. San Jose, president and COO of The San Jose Group said, “As the Hispanic market grows 14 times faster than the general market, and Hispanic public relations shakes the industry as one of the most successful trust-based-relationship building practices between consumers and brands; we are pleased to have an experienced strategist in our team.”
Cristina Alfaro brings over a decade of public relations and marketing experience to The San Jose Group. Her experience spans both the general and U.S. Hispanic markets, and includes a wide array of industries, among them: consumer products, hospitality, health, spirits and automotive.
Most recently, she headed the public relations division of The IAC Group, where she managed Hispanic market programs for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Hyundai Motor America, Schieffelin & Somerset and Cingular Wireless among others. While at Fleishman Hillard and Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown, her work on behalf of clients such as the Mexico Tourism Board, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism and Grupo Posadas, the largest hotel company in Latin America, expanded her knowledge and understanding of the cultural intricacies of various Latin American countries. “We envision our public relations division to spring forth to the next level; the expertise she brings to the group will greatly benefit our existing and prospective clients,” added San Jose.
