CHICAGO (October 21, 1999) — The National Chapter of the American Cancer Society, one of the nation’s most prestigious organizations leading the fight against cancer, has selected San Jose & Associates, Inc. as its advertising and PR agency of record for the development of its Hispanic awareness initiatives.
A pilot marketing program will run in Florida and southern California prior to a national rollout. SJ&A has already worked the ACS’s Illinois Division for nearly a decade in delivering award-winning mammography, anti-tobacco and prostate cancer campaigns.
“We selected SJ&A because of their strategic approach and creative expertise,” said Armando Rodriguez, Hispanic Development Center Director for the ACS Florida Division.”The work that they’ve done for the ACS in Illinois has generated unprecedented results in our under-served communities. I am confident that we will be just as successful in other markets as well,” he added.
SJ&A’s responsibilities will include the development of television, radio, print and outdoor campaigns. These initiatives will also include community involvement and media relations programs designed to educate the Hispanic population with early detection and prevention messages.
“Some of the most personally fulfilling work that we do is for the Illinois Region of the American Cancer Society,” said George L. San Jose, president and executive creative director of SJ&A. “We are honored to be given the opportunity to extend our life-saving efforts into other major markets throughout the U.S.,” he added.
