CHICAGO (May 25, 2004) — The San Jose Group recently won two public relations awards in the Publicity Club of Chicago’s (PCC) 2004 competition for public relations programs. The National Pork Board‘s 2003 Hispanic public relations program was awarded a Golden Trumpet Public Relations Award and the Hispanic Christian Churches Association’s (HCCA) 2003 public service announcement program was awarded the Silver Trumpet Public Relations Award in this prestigious competition.
The winning National Pork Board public relations program set out to dispel myths about health and safety concerns that Hispanic consumers associated with pork by providing relevant information about its nutritional value, as well as pork production and quality control practices in the United States. The campaign’s media relations efforts garnered over 34 million gross impressions and $850 million in advertising value.
The winning HCCA public service campaign focused on reminding Hispanics not to waste opportunities to begin a relationship with God. The San Jose Group created television, print, radio and outdoor PSAs and placed them in select media outlets, garnering over $35 million in media placements for the client.

Golden Trumpet Awards are the highest honor bestowed by the PCC for outstanding achievement of public relations programs. Silver Trumpet Awards are presented for distinguished achievement in public relations programs. For the 2004 program 245 entries were submitted with 48 winners of the Golden Trumpet award and 47 winners of the Silver Trumpet award.
